I’ve been to Spain like seven times already, but still I keep wanting to go back. Me and my brother have been going to Spain with my cousin and her family every summer for as long as I can properly remember.

Every year we go to the same house in Fuengirola, near Malaga. We drive the same highway, take all the same turns and drive up the same insanely abrupt hill. I always get so excited to realize I recognize the way and know exactly where we are. It’s so nice to spend a week there, in the warm sun with a pool thirty feet away from the house. I can’t even count how many times I have driven past this traffic circle and this sign.

If I were to visit Spain again I’d like to visit some bigger cities like Valencia, Madrid or Barcelona. In Spain there’s good weather, good food and nice people.

In Barcelona I’d like to visit the Sagrada Familia, the beautiful holy cathedral. I have an online friend in Barcelona who I’d like to see.  The 37 Michelin stars in Barcelona tempt me. I’d love to walk along the Las Ramblas, the biggest street in Barcelona at nightfall.

In Madrid the nightlife and the food are to die for, I’ve heard. One of my dreams is to go on an exchange year in Madrid. I love the idea of an all year around summer. Imagine if I left mid July while it’s still warm in Finland and I went to Spain. Then I came back next June and it would be summer again in Finland.

Valencia looks so beautiful! It’s said to be the birthplace of paella. I could definitely go for some paella with chicken, but definitely not the one with shrimp, clams and stuff. The Old Town, which is called El Carmen in Valencia, the heart of the city is definitely a place I’d want to visit one day.
I really like warm places.
